Lisa Whyte (she/her)

Lisa is a Psychologist, Mindfulness instructor and the managing director of Serenity Psychology South Perth, working with individuals, couples, families and groups to enhance wellbeing. Lisa also specialises in ADHD assessment and coaching.

Lisa was educated at Curtin University and the University of Western Australia. Lisa and her husband of 30 plus years are parents to four amazing humans, ranging in age from 17 to 32 years.  Lisa believes in walking alongside her family to help them develop a strong sense of self, and giving them the tools required to build and maintain positive family, peer, professional and community relationships. Similarly, Lisa’s passion lies in helping her clients to strengthen their resilience by improving relationships at home, school and work in order to face the challenges of life as we develop and grow.

Lisa specialises in ADHD and the pressures of school, family and peer relationships affecting academic and occupational performance. Lisa works with her clients to help them identify individual patterns in thinking, behaving and feeling that may be maintaining symptoms of anxiety, panic and depression. Lisa also works within a multi-disciplinary team focussing on the secondary psychological symptoms that arise from the subjective and physical experience of sexuality, intimacy, gender and women’s health.

Lisa has practised in primary and secondary schools in the East Kimberley and Perth which has afforded her the opportunity to develop a broad range of counselling and psychology skills across the lifespan from early childhood to late adulthood.  Her expertise extends to psychometric assessment of psychological, developmental, academic performance, for educational planning and disabilities support. Lisa also has extensive experience with parenting coaching and understands the dynamic nature of family growth and flourishing. 

Experience gained from working within Aboriginal communities in the East Kimberley has given rise to a special gift in understanding the impact of past, present and ongoing trauma.  Lisa has extensive experience working with children and adults living with grief and loss, domestic violence and sexual abuse, with a personal interest in the effects of trauma on learning, language, psychological and subjective life experience. 

Lisa approaches her clients’ presentations from a solution-focussed perspective with a view to supporting the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.  She believes life is an exciting and challenging puzzle waiting to be solved, so skills building in all areas of life is essential to optimal growth and functioning. Lisa strives to help her clients reach their potential and meet their individual and familial goals.

Jennifer was educated at Murdoch University in Perth and went on to complete her Masters degree at the University of Kent in Canterbury in the U.K. She has experience working therapeutically with a range of clients including, adolescents, families, adults and couples in both individual settings and group based work. Her background includes work in community and forensic settings for a range of issues such as anxiety, trauma, relationships, anger management, self-esteem, addictive behaviours and drug and alcohol problems. She also has experience in supervising psychologists and social workers.

Jennifer believes in assisting people within a safe and supportive environment to explore and develop their own internal resources and coping strategies to move forward in life.

After moving from the UK from Australia as a teenager, Lucy went on to study Psychology at the University of Western Australia and Murdoch University.

With a strong belief in the importance of resilience, self-care and positive self-esteem, Lucy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, her puppy, as well as regularly going to CrossFit.

Lucy has extensive experience working with children diagnosed with Autism. This work has given rise to a deeper understanding of Autism and the impact this diagnosis can have not only on the diagnosed individual throughout the stages of their lives, but also the person’s family and support network. Further, experience in these roles have enhanced Lucy’s skills in critical-thinking and problem-solving, as well as her ability to adapt to the client’s ongoing needs.

Lucy is a friendly, kind, dedicated and passionate practitioner, who provides clients with a person-centred and strengths-based approach to therapy, individualised to meet the evolving needs of individuals at different stages of life. In order to receive the best care, Lucy strongly believe in the idea of continual growth and adaptability. She enjoys working with children and young people in particular, in conjunction with their families, to improve their quality of life and life experiences by creating a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to grow and reach their full potential. By adopting various evidence-based interventions most suited to the individual, such as DBT, CBT, EMDR, and solution-focused therapy, Lucy is able to provide effective strategies that allow the individual to flourish and better cope with the challenges of everyday life. Lucy is also specifically interested in the use of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) as an evidence-based intervention for treating various types of trauma in suitable clients. Lucy is passionate about continuously developing her competencies and always strives to provide the best quality of care to her clients.

Lucy has experience in assisting individuals with a wide variety of presentations, including neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, to allow then to explore and develop helpful skills and resources in a safe space. She has a particular interest in neurodiversity, and is able to conduct psychometric assessments forADHD, Autism and Specific Learning Disorders across the lifespan.

Deb is a registered psychologist who has experience working with clients from across the lifespan and from diverse cultures.

Deb’s therapeutic approach is non-judgmental, compassionate and collaborative. Deb works alongside her clients to help them recognise and understand their difficulties while building on their existing strengths. She is passionate about supporting clients to make the changes necessary to live a meaningful life.

Deb takes a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to therapy to suit the individual needs of her clients. Therapeutic models include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.

Deb’s areas of interest include anxiety, mood disorders, grief, trauma, and relationship difficulties. She also has a keen interest in helping women working through menopause related difficulties.

Sarah began her psychological career working in primary schools, mainly with children with disability, before moving to the Non-Profit sector and working with family members of Defence & First Responder Personnel to up-skill and equip them for life as a frontline family. Recently, Sarah has been working in small business with adults with disability.

Sarah is passionate about helping people navigate major life transitions, particularly women navigating parenting, identity and the “juggle”, anxiety, grief and loss. She is a firm believer in the power of proactive mental health and wellbeing and uses Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help her clients.

Jenny has worked as a Psychologist in the Education Department for 25 years.

Jenny has worked in Primary School settings and more recently in Education Support settings, assessing and supporting children with Intellectual Disability and Autism.

Now working on Reception, Jenny enjoys supporting Serenity's clients. Her depth of experiences helps her to understand the depth of some mental health difficulties individuals struggle with. She is passionate about helping people access support for positive mental health and wellbeing.

Sophia has a passion for helping individuals and is keen to guide clients through the exploration and navigation of their lives. Sophia has an interest in research and a commitment to evidence-based practice, Sophia ensures she tailors her approach to what is best for her clients and their unique situations. While Sophia is interested in

in evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Sophia remains open to continuous learning and the integration of new therapeutic models.

Sophia is a friendly and calm person who provides a safe space for clients. Sophia emphasizes the significance of the therapeutic relationship and believes in a collaborative process between the client and psychologist.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sophia enjoys Pilates, listening to podcasts, and discovering new cafes and restaurants.


Pepper the Therapy Dog

Pepper is a 100% pure-bred Labrador who was born for her job, and is highly valued in our team. Arguably the most popular member of our team, she loves people of all ages, and will take a pat, belly rub or screams of delight at her beauty. She loves long walks and swims in the river or ocean.


Chuckie the Therapy Dog

Chuckie is one of Pepper’s children, born late 2023. Chuckie loves to greet everyone who comes to Serenity and proudly shows off his favourite toy. Like Pepper, Chuckie is highly valued by our team at Serenity and is learning to follow in his mother’s paw prints.
